Happy New Year and welcome to thelipstickdiary.com! After months of thinking, I decided to give up my former blog with some of the content and start something new. I have never really been satisfied with my previous one on blogger.com, the presentation was never sleek enough for me and I also didn’t like the name. It was not catchy enough nor was it in relation with makeup. I did no longer have the motivation for updating the blog nor doing some looks. After talking to some people who also have a website, they suggested that I should try out wordpress.com. Now that I had figured out that I would be giving up blogger, I had to think of a new name.
“Disgraziana” is a surname found by one of my friends which is the combination of the Italian word “disgraziata” (disgraceful) and Graziana, my name. I thought about what I liked most about makeup and what I love doing in general which, on one hand are lipsticks and I always loved writing. The name “The Lipstick Diary” was obvious. So here I am with a new name for my new blog. However I still think “disgraziana” is a funny name which is why I am going to keep it as a nick for my Twitter and Instagram : ).
Since I started blogging in February 2012, I started interacting with some people on social media, but I also had the opportunity to meet some of them I have always admired. It is so surreal!!!
It is such a great experience to meet with people who maybe don’t belong to the makeup sphere but with whom you can share a hobby. I am thinking in particular of the (yet few) shooting I had to pleasure to be part of. The feeling of being at the place on the right moment is priceless! And it is this very feeling I want to concentrate on and work with from this year on. As I mentioned on my previous blog, I am not a professional. This is a place where I want to be creative and express myself.
Anyway, I don’t want to extend myself with a large speech. To the ones who have been with me since the beginning, thank you as always for your time and to the new ones: welcome to this journey!
Graziana
